We aim to collect only the personal information reasonably needed to provide Minuvia, keep accounts secure, remember access entitlements, provide learning features and support users.

01 Who we are

Minuvia is an educational revision service providing digital learning and revision tools.

LEGAL OPERATOR Minuvia
PRIVACY CONTACT support@minuvia.co.uk

The legal operator named above is responsible for determining how personal information covered by this policy is used, except where another organisation acts as an independent controller, such as Apple or Google for certain store and payment activities.

02 Information we collect

The information processed depends on how you use Minuvia. It may include:

  • Account information , such as your name, email address and account identifier when an account is created.
  • Learning activity , such as quiz results, calculation performance, completed activities, streaks and revision progress.
  • Access information , such as whether your account has Free, Basic or Premium access.
  • Support information that you provide when you contact us for help.
  • Technical and security information reasonably required to operate, protect and troubleshoot the service.

Some learning-progress information may be stored locally on the device on which Minuvia is used.

03 Why we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

  • create and operate user accounts;
  • authenticate users and protect account security;
  • provide revision activities and learning-progress features;
  • remember the Minuvia access level available to a user;
  • provide personalised revision features where these are included in the user's plan;
  • respond to support and privacy requests;
  • maintain, secure and improve the service;
  • comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

04 Our lawful bases

Where UK data-protection law applies, we use an appropriate lawful basis for each processing activity. Depending on the circumstances, this may include performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, legitimate interests or consent.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests may include operating and securing Minuvia, preventing misuse and improving the service. Where consent is relied upon, you may withdraw that consent where applicable.

05 Service providers

We use specialist service providers to operate parts of Minuvia. These may include:

  • Supabase for services including authentication, database functionality, storage and server-side functions used by Minuvia.
  • Apple where an app is distributed through the Apple App Store or where Apple processes an in-app purchase or subscription.
  • Google where an app is distributed through Google Play or where Google processes an in-app purchase or subscription.

These providers may process information in accordance with their own terms and privacy documentation as well as the arrangements applicable to the services they provide to us.

06 Purchases and subscriptions

When you purchase Basic or Premium access through an app store, payment is processed by the relevant store provider. Minuvia does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

We may receive transaction, subscription or entitlement information required to determine which Minuvia features your account is permitted to access and to support purchase restoration.

07 Sharing personal information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information where reasonably necessary:

  • with service providers that help us operate Minuvia;
  • to comply with a legal obligation or lawful request;
  • to protect users, Minuvia or the security of our services;
  • in connection with a genuine business reorganisation, acquisition or transfer, subject to applicable data-protection requirements.

08 How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing the service, maintaining security, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations.

Information stored locally by the app may remain on a device until it is cleared, reset or the app is removed.

09 Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and users should also protect their devices and login credentials.

10 Your data-protection rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights such as access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and the right to withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis.

To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the privacy contact shown in section 1. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or another relevant supervisory authority.

11 Account and data deletion

Users with a Minuvia account can use the Delete profile option in the app to request deletion of their account.

We will also provide a public account-deletion page for users who need to request account deletion without using the app. Some information may need to be retained where required or permitted by law, for security purposes, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

12 Children and young people

Minuvia is an educational revision service and may be used by young people. We aim to provide privacy information in language that is clear and accessible and to apply additional protections where data-protection law requires them.

We do not knowingly use children's personal information for behavioural advertising.

13 International data processing

Some service providers may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism or other lawful protection.

14 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Minuvia, our service providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date will be changed accordingly.
